1hr Pottery Class (6-16 yrs)

Let your child’s imagination run wild with clay at the AARD Cape Town Studio! Our exciting, hands-on pottery classes for kids (6-16) are the perfect way to spark creativity. Whether they’re beginners or have some experience, they’ll get to shape, glaze, and fire their own unique creations. With small class sizes of just 6 children, each child enjoys lots of personal attention in a fun, safe, community-focused environment. 

Classes include

• Studio time (60min)
• Instructor (guidance/supervision)
• Use of tools
• Use of studio equipment
• Use of apron
• Glaze (paint) options
• Kiln firing
• x1 Clay bag (2.5kg) for first time visitors

How it works

• Choose their days and slots.
• We recommend a minimum of two classes to complete a piece.
• Please note that completed clay items take 1-2 weeks to dry before entering the kiln for their first fire. They will then require a second session to paint (glaze) their items after which they will be re-fired for the second time.
• First time visitors will receive their clay bag upon arrival. Should your child require more clay in subsequent sessions, this will be provided at a small fee (approx. R30 - R45)
• No-shows or missed classes are non-refundable.
• Bookings essential.

Location

• Our studio is located in Welgedacht, (Northern Suburbs) Cape Town.
• Confirmation and estate access will be shared in the week before your first class commences.
